We’re so proud to share that one of our PA Pool members, Grace Munyanyi, has recently published her first book — No One Told Me This in Nursing School: Real Lessons from Student to New Nurse – What They Don’t Teach Us in Class.

This is an incredible achievement, and we’re delighted to celebrate Grace’s success with our community.

Grace’s book is a practical and insightful guide designed to support health professionals — from support workers and student nurses to newly qualified nurses as they transition from theory into real-world clinical practice. It bridges the gap between academic learning and the realities of patient care, offering relatable scenarios, reflective insights and essential tips drawn from lived experience.

Her aim is to empower, build confidence and equip readers with the knowledge and mindset needed to thrive in their nursing journey.

Grace is a newly qualified Adult Nurse with a BSc in Adult Nursing and currently works as a staff nurse with clinical experience in cardiothoracic surgery. Prior to this, she worked as a support worker through PA Pool, supporting individuals with spinal injuries.

She has developed a strong passion for supporting student nurses and newly qualified practitioners as they navigate the challenges of transitioning into professional practice. Her work is driven by a commitment to education, empowerment and improving patient care through knowledge-sharing and mentorship.

Since publishing her book, Grace has already achieved some incredible milestones, including hosting a book launch through her university and being invited to speak at a graduation ceremony. She is also being featured in an article by the Royal College of Nursing, a fantastic recognition of her work.

We’re so proud to have Grace as part of the PA Pool community and wish her every success with her book and future career.
