If you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance, the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment or the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement, you can exchange your weekly payment to lease a new car through the Motability Scheme. What’s more, insurance, servicing, RAC breakdown assistance and replacement tyres will all be included in the cost of the lease.

Just recently, Motability have enhanced and updated their Car Search tool which can be found at www.motability.co.uk to search through the 2000 makes and models available on the scheme.  Motability have worked closely with disability technology charity AbilityNet, to ensure the tool is fully accessible with improved options to narrow down the search. The Car Search tool is also now available as a ‘quick search’ via the homepage, making it easier for users to access it straight away.  New ‘results’ pages and ‘car details’ pages help to make it easier to browse and users can now save, print and email a search without needing to log-in.  Evaluating options is also easier with the chance to compare up to four models side by side, to see at a glance what each model offers and, with helpful reviews from WhatCar? users can also get a flavour of each car’s key features.  The Car Search tool is also now accessible from mobile devices.
